Type Design Video

After being inspired by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie's Ted Talk "We Should All Be Feminists," I decided to make a kinetic type video as a tribute. I also wanted to explore gender through design, therefore when I began researching "feminine" & "masculine" icons, typography, color palettes, & various design assets on Google, I realized that the sexist ideologies Adichie spoke about is also inherently found in graphic design.

For example the female icons were all of shoes, handbags, & make-up yet the male icons were of suits, ties, & brief cases. This video switches the two gender aesthetics in order to emphasis the absurdity of the limited representation that is currently found in mainstream design.
